Registration is open: New Bikeable City Masterclass in Copenhagen August 2017

Cycling Embassy of Denmark and the Danish Cyclists’ Federation offers a Masterclass in cycle planning and promotion. It will take place at University of Aalborg in Copenhagen August 28 to September 1 2017.

 We invite urban planners, NGO’s and politicians to experience the Danish cycle culture first hand on bike. With a mix of presentations, workshops and site visits Danish experts will give you inspiration to create more liveable and bikeable cities, and you will work on bringing this inspiration to solutions that suits the context of your city.

Leading experts from academics, consultancies, and city administration will teach you how they approach cycling in relation to sustainable mobility and climate goals, cycle infrastructure design, road safety, multi-modal transport, and city logistics as well as cycle education and promotion.

You will get first-hand experience with Danish cycle solutions in Copenhagen and Odense. At the end of the course, participants will have gained knowledge on how they can transfer Danish solutions to their own cities.

The program includes topics such as

  • Introduction to city development and Danish cycling planning
  • The political process – Meeting with Morten Kabell,
    Mayor of Technical & Environmental Affairs in Copenhagen
  • Bicycle Strategy and – Account as tools for cycle promotion
  • Cycle infrastructure design
  • Traffic safety for cyclists, accidents and systematic accident reduction
  • People First Design – meeting with Gehl Architects

General information and price

Price 1,800 € or 13,500 DKK
This includes expert guidance, course material, and excursion to Odense, bike rental, lunch and coffee breaks. Travel and accommodation expenses are not included.

The Masterclass will be limited to 25 participants and is open for individual as well as group enrollment.

We require a minimum of 18 participants to conduct the masterclass. You will receive an email after booking with more information no later than July 21, 2017, or as soon as we have enough participants to conduct the masterclass.

If the masterclass is canceled due to lack of participants, you will get at full refund excl. any bank fee. We suggest you arrange flights and hotel after we confirm the conduction of the masterclass.
