The Danish National Bicycle Strategy

The idea behind the bicycle strategy is to encourage more people to cycle. By giving new ideas to municipalities and other actors who would like to take part in the green transition and who wish to invest in cycling – making it easier for more people to cycle on an everyday basis.

Denmark on your bike

The bicycle strategy has now been publicized in English to give planers, organizations or municipalities around the world an opportunity to learn from good and bad experiences made over the years in Denmark.

The scope of the bicycle strategy is divided into three focus areas; everyday cycling, school cycling and recreational cycling. The strategy contains cases of existing conditions for cyclist divided into the three focus areas and sums up recommendations for improvement.
