Transforming cities around the world
With inspiration from the way of life in Copenhagen, Gehl Architects has played an important role in transforming cities around the world into greener and more sustainable cities with the people living in them in focus.

They have been contributing to the spreading of sustainable solutions from Copenhagen to bigger cities all over the world, strengthening the leading position of the city hence leading the way for other Danish companies,” said the Copenhagen Lord Mayor Frank Jensen.

The prize was presented by the Copenhagen Lord Mayor, Frank Jensen, the Mayor of Technical & Environmental Affairs, Morten Kabell, and the Chairman of DI, Torben Ladegaard, at Gehl Architects’ Copenhagen office.

“We are happy and excited to have won the “Initiativ Prize” and for the tremendous recognition following the prized,” thanked Founding Partner and CEO, Helle Søholt.

Instead of receiving the artwork accompanying the prize, Gehl Architects has chosen to donate the money to UN´s refugee agency UNHCR.
