Cycling Embassy Chairman to speak at CIVITAS Forum 2015

| October 6, 2015

On October 7-9, Chairman of the CED, Marianne Weinreich, travels to Ljubljana for CIVITAS Forum 2015. With the theme “sharing the city”, this year’s conference has a strong focus on sustainable urban mobility as an essential driver for building accessible and liveable cities. So of course, the Danes will be there to share our best practice on cycling.

“Cycling is an important part of creating a liveable city. And here, Denmark has many years’ experience both in terms of cycle-friendly urban planning and infrastructure and organizing successful campaigns for all age groups that make more and more Danes jump on the bikes. The CED’s mission is to help promote cycling all over the world by sharing these experiences, so I much look forward to some interesting talks with the participants at CIVITAS Forum,” says Marianne Weinreich.

How to create a cycling city

Marianne Weinreich will be representing the Cycling Embassy of Denmark at our stand as well giving two presentations on cycling in Denmark. She will share success stories from Danish solutions regarding cycling and distribute her extensive knowledge in a session, where she will speak about planning, policy and people – how to create a cycling city.

Furthermore, Marianne Weinreich will be talking about how to keep older cyclists on their bikes, a project by the Danish Cyclists’ Federation.
