The book “Aspects of active travel – How to encourage people to walk or cycle in urban areas” is now available. Marianne Weinreich of VEKSØ, member and Vice Chair of the Cycling Embassy of Denmark, has contributed to the book with an article about Danish best practice. The article is a summary of our “Collection of Cycle Concepts 2012.”
The book “highlights the implementation of successful measures and campaigns in different countries and cities and also the importance of and degree to which awareness of active travel has been raised among stakeholders and decision makers. The aim is that walking and cycling should be seen as equal to other modes of transport, requiring an adequate and defined budget.” Werner Gronau, Wolfgang Fischer, Robert Pressl (eds.)
The new book is available for download either in full length or just the individual articles at eltis.org.
