In this paper the author investigates different causes and effects of Automobile Dependency in cities. In cities where cars are the predominanttransport the residents do not have freedom of choice about the way they live andmove around the city, and the culture of automobile use has produced a kindof addiction to them. Thereafter a city is chosen as case study and AutomobileDependency is measured using several indicators. Finally some interventions areproposed in order to lessen the reliance on cars in this certain case
