Speakers at Velo-city 2011

The European cycling world will once again be gathered at the Velo-City conference. This time in Seville.The conference was just officially opened. Deputy Chairman of the Cycling Embassy, Marianne Weinreich, has expressed her expectations as follows;

“The programme is very broad and leads us through best practice and new knowledge in connection with cycling and health, mobility management and the socio-economic aspects of bicycle traffic. We are looking forward to getting there and being tanked up – to meeting again and creating new relations with the fantastic people within the European cycling world. And we also get the pleasure of listening to exciting profiles such as Gro Harlem Brundtland and Gil Peñalosa”, says Marianne Weinreich.

The Cycling Embassy of Denmark is represented by:

* Marie Kåstrup, City of Copenhagen; The Cycling Girl in Copenhagen and beyond. Today at 17:30 in Gran Sevilla.
* Claus Rex, Danish Cyclists’ Federation; Social benefits of cycling – cycling as a way of growing sustainable, intercultural tourism. Today at 17:30 in Cartuja.
* Eva Willumsen, COWI; Public investment for a better life, the efficiency of cycling investments. Thursday, March 24th at15:00 in the Plenary hall.
* Lise Bjørg Pedersen, Danish Cyclists’ Federation; How to get political will for more cycling initiatives. Friday, March 25th at 15:00 in Cartuja.
