Deputy chairman, Marianne Weinreich visited Oslo last week to speak at the Oslo Architecture Triennial. During her visit, she checked Oslo as a cycle city. The conclusion was clear; “Cyclists need to have their own infrastructure. Then cyclists will bike safe, secure, and quick. It is really important to regard the bike as a means of transport – not as a toy.”
Research from The Norwegian Public Roads Administration shows that the amount of cyclists in Oslo has increased from 2007 to 2010 in specific parts of Oslo. Hopefully Oslo can continue and extend this tendency.
