On 5th September, at London Sky Ride, the Danish Embassy repeated Children’s Bicycle Workshop, once again with great success as both children and parents had a joyful day of fun games and tasty refreshments.
The day started off easy as most visitors wanted to first complete the planned route of the Sky Ride event. However, once the first curious children started showing up and having fun, more soon followed.
There were cannon balls, obstacle courses and tickle monsters for the children to try their strength against. Meanwhile, their parents were having a chat with an instructor or refreshing themselves with a nice glass of Danish elderflower juice from Scandinavian Kitchen, who also supplied goodie bags with Danish sweets for the children to take home.
The cycling games were the main attraction, but Velorution were also very active with their Christiania Bike display. In addition, I Bike London stopped by, selling their stylish t-shirts directly from Christiania Bikes.
Children’s Bicycle Workshop was arranged by the Danish Embassy in collaboration with the Danish Cycling Federation, who also had an instructor present on the day. To help him, we were very happy to have four committed instructors from Cycle Confident who made sure the children had a fantastic experience. Velorution once again supplied some lovely bikes, free for the children to borrow.
We look forward to once again encourage children to get on their bikes at our next Children’s Bicycle Workshop!
